MY 125 FAVORITE R & B SONGS OF ALL TIME

Like many of you I love all kinds of music. R & B is the center piece of my musical interests.  This is not a list of which songs I think are the best, but rather my favorites.

#125- “SWEET NOVEMBER” (Troop)

The greatest entertainer that ever lived nailed the more traditional R & B sound of the 1990's with "You are not alone" (#2). MJ and R. Kelly collaborated on the hit for a week. The song has a tempo of 60 beats per minute making it one of Michael's slowest songs.

Marvin Gaye singing the National Anthem before the 1983 NBA All-Star game (#6). The performance defines the phrase “making it your own.” A three minute, mello soul concert broke out. Stevie Wonder has a magical voice. When he is in a group or duet, I'm always waiting for his part. In "That's what friends are for" (#51) he's on the stage with legends. I'm waiting for him to put down his wicked harmonica and belt out his part.

Hi-Five has a bubblegum side, but I think they are legit. "As One" has a grown up sound. The layers of voices in the chorus are memorable.
