If you’re a sports fan, you have heard the noise surrounding Zion Williamson of Duke. Have you seen him play? I’ve had to watch. Then I had to watch some more. He’s actually better than the hype.
Williamson seems born for stardom. What makes his appeal even higher, is he just wants to be one of the guys.
If Zion gets any space, he’s getting to the rim. It’s not just because of extreme athleticism. He puts the ball on the floor right away, and he’s quick as a cat.
He can play off the ball, distribute, defend, and his outside shot appears to be something nice to work with. He’s stunning.
With a prospect of this magnitude coming to the NBA, it’s easy to ask who Williamson compares to. It’s tough, because he’s a rare bird.
Zion reminds me of eight different players. Here is how I would divide up the number 100.
LARRY JOHNSON (20%)
CHARLES BARKLEY (20%)
SHAWN KEMP (20%)
RODNEY ROGERS (15%)
BLAKE GRIFFIN (10%)
LEBRON JAMES (5%)
SHAQUILLE O’NEAL (5%)
ANTHONY MASON (5%)

Who does he remind you of? I’m excited to watch him on the next level. He’s Hall of Fame or bust. I’m betting on Zion.
